—Civic Leadership • Workforce • Advocacy

Building a stronger
economy, together.

The California African American Chamber of Commerce (CAACC) and the California African American Action Fund (CAAAF) work in tandem to ensure that advocacy is informed by research, grounded in real business experiences, and supported by practical resources.

Building Opportunity. Developing Leaders.
Advancing Economic Equity.

At the California African American Action Fund (CAAAF), we believe that lasting economic progress requires more than access to opportunity. It requires intentional investments in people, strong community leadership, and policies that create pathways to prosperity.

Our work is centered on three interconnected pillars: Workforce Development, Civic Leadership, and Business Advocacy. Together, these priorities guide our commitment to strengthening California’s African American communities, expanding economic mobility, and ensuring that individuals, businesses, and future generations have the resources, representation, and opportunities necessary to thrive.

—Our Three Pillars

Every initiative we launch connects back to one of these three commitments to the community.

Workforce Development

Through strategic partnerships and targeted initiatives, CAAAF seeks to help create a more inclusive workforce where African Americans have greater access to quality jobs, career advancement, entrepreneurship, and economic security.

We believe workforce development is not simply about finding employment. It is about creating sustainable career pathways that empower individuals, strengthen families, and build generational wealth.

Civic Leadership

CAAAF envisions a California where African American voices are meaningfully represented in conversations that influence economic development, education, workforce policy, and community investment. By cultivating knowledgeable, engaged leaders, we aim to strengthen communities’ capacity to advocate for their interests, build strategic partnerships, and shape decisions that affect future generations.

Our goal is not only to develop leaders for today, but to build a sustainable leadership pipeline for tomorrow.

Business Advocacy

Through sustained advocacy and collaboration, CAAAF seeks to help shape an economic environment where African American businesses can compete fairly, access new markets, create quality jobs, and contribute to California’s long-term economic growth.

Our commitment extends beyond supporting individual businesses. We aim to strengthen the broader economic ecosystem, promote business ownership, and expand opportunities for wealth creation within African American communities.

The California African American Action Fund (CAAAF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization affiliated with the California African American Chamber of Commerce (CAACC).

—Our Approach

A foundation built on partnership

We don’t work in isolation. Every program is a collaboration between businesses, educators, nonprofits, and local government.

Listen first

We start by understanding the real challenges facing employers, workers, and families in our community.

Convene the right people

We bring together stakeholders who rarely sit at the same table and build consensus around shared goals.

Deliver measurable impact

Every initiative has clear metrics so we can hold ourselves accountable to the community we serve.
