—About the Fund

Advancing opportunity across our community

The California African American Action Fund is a nonprofit organization committed to building a thriving, inclusive economy where every resident has the opportunity to succeed.

—OUR MISSION

Championing a region where business and community grow together

CAAAF’s mission is to educate and train individuals, strengthen organizational capacity, conduct research, and provide leadership-development opportunities. The organization also works to expand access to capital, deliver workforce development programs, and create grant funding opportunities for emerging businesses, local chambers, and underserved communities.

CAAAF coordinates its programs in collaboration with CAACC, its chamber and business-association members, and a statewide network of community leaders, entrepreneurs, and job creators. Through these partnerships, CAAAF helps strengthen California’s economy, expand economic opportunity, and improve the quality of life for residents and communities throughout the state.

—WHAT WE DO

Three ways we create impact.

Invest in People

Workforce training, apprenticeships, and scholarship programs that prepare residents for high-demand careers in growing industries.

Develop Leaders

We empower emerging African American leaders across California with the networks, knowledge, and civic connections to advocate for their communities and shape decisions for future generations.

Advocate for Business

We represent the voice of small and mid-sized businesses in policy conversations, working to reduce barriers and create a climate where enterprise can thrive.

—Our Values

Principles that guide every decision

Integrity

We operate with transparency and hold ourselves to the highest standards of accountability in everything we do.

Inclusion

We actively seek diverse perspectives and ensure our programs serve every corner of the community, not just the well-connected.

Collaboration

No single organization can solve complex community challenges. We partner broadly and share credit generously.
